Okay, not much DIY'ing has been going on around here for awhile, I find it's fallen to the bottom rung in terms of priorities. But, as I mentioned in an earlier post, if there is any design work to be done this year in my house it will focus on working with what I have and getting to those little tweaks here and there that have been calling out to me!
I'm still loving the DIY Bamboo Light Fixture above our kitchen nook table...
...but what I'm not liking is the look of the table these days. Serves me right for purchasing a table with a veneer top. Never again I tell you! I've been tossing around a couple solutions. One that was under consideration was to sand it down and give it a natural finish...
...like the table in our bonus room I refinished with Briwax Liming Wax. However, who knows how the veneer would behave when sanded and what types of wood the table is made of. Perhaps a mix of woods, tones and grains, so that idea got nixed. My second solution is to paint. Using SW Adhesion Primer, their ProClassics Paint designed to use on furniture and a protective coating, I think it will be a great solution.
And to lighten up the space, I'm pretty sure I'll be painting the table SW Gray Area, the same color that was used when the kitchen island got a makeover. But, of course all this is up for discussion...things have a way of evolving once a project is begun!
