There are several favorite aspects of working on House of Fifty mag, but one of them that is right up near the top of the list is getting to know the designers we feature a bit better. I thoroughly enjoy learning more about their design process and the story behind the rooms they create.
Like Tineke Triggs of Artistic Designs for Living! I actually first met Tineke years ago when we both became mothers for the first time while living in San Francisco, each taking time off from our careers. It was a huge shift and how grateful I was to have other moms to help me learn how to best handle this new venture. Tineke took this time to reassess what she wanted to do, and when she did go back to work it was in a new career, interior design. Based on the wonderful work she does and the happy clients she has, it was one great move.

Tineke loves to push clients to use color and as a result this laundry room ended up being a favorite room of a clients after her house remodel.
Mixing patterns is something Tineke and her team is also very good at.
Of course I had to include this gorgeous kitchen done by Tineke's firm, as we featured it in our latest issue of House of Fifty along with Tineke's top kitchen design tips. Outstanding features are the herringbone tile run the height of the wall, the La Cornue stove, hood designed by Tineke's cabinetry maker to coordinate with the stove, and the little details that make a difference such as the square legs on the cabinetry and the thick square lines of the countertop.
I've been busy working with a couple more of my favorite designers for articles in our next issue, coming May 7th, and can't wait to share!
