Jeanette Van Wicklen Design - Part 2

Is it just me or is that first room one of the prettiest bathrooms you've ever laid eyes on?! Designed by Jeanette Van Wicklen of JVW Home out of Austin, Texas, the renovated 1800's farmhouse photographed by Katie Clementson and Paul Finkel of Piston Design has all the luxuries we crave, while staying true to the home's roots. Just like yesterday, each photo has so many great details it's hard to know where to begin! The bathroom is a total dream. To have all that space, pretty cabinetry, comfy seating and a great bathtub?! *sigh* I love all the furniture in the bedrooms too, and of course the pretty colors. (The master bedroom is painted Valspar Aquatic Edge with Valspar Clean White on the trim.) The bedding on the twin beds in the guestroom is super duper cute too. And what lucky guests that get to stay in the guesthouse! It's absolutely delightful!!

Jeanette Van Wicklen Design - Part 1

I just have to wonder with some homes how in the heck the owners ever mange to leave! This one designed by Jeanette Van Wicklen of JVW Home is one of them. The interior designer out of Austin, Texas knows a thing or two about our favorite colors...oh my gosh, they're everywhere! There are so many gorgeous rooms in this home, photographed so beautifully by Paul Finkel of Piston Design and Katie Clementson, that I just can't fit them all in one day. Today we're starting off in the family areas of the home. Can you believe the home was built in the 1800's?? It's actually an old farmhouse in the west hills of Austin that Jeannette and her husband lovingly renovated. There are so many great details, I feel like every time I look at the photos I see something new that I love! Yup, pretty sure I'd never leave!

. . . was just remarking how the weekend positively flew by, as if a dream, one that was filled with pastel-coloured pastries and chocolat fleur de sel biscuits [every delectable bite all but gone now], and visits with the past, a wardrobe of lace-lined cardigans, striped gold sequined tops and coral cashmere sweaters, and now on this sun-drenched early-march monday, fast approaching the wrapping up stages of a few projects, and with the near arrival of spring comes many other wonderful things . . .

Birthday Wishes!

Oh turquoise shutters, you do it to me every time!! This neat photo was snapped by Rachel Halvorson of Nest Egg during a shopping trip down Magazine Street in New Orleans. I've never been, but boy the shopping there looks incredibly enticing!

I love special days and today is certainly one of them! A big birthday shout-out to my dad Dallas who is turning 65 today! Happy Birthday, Dad!!! I love this photo of him from my wedding last spring...so handsome!

(don't you love his calculator watch?? he is an architect after all!)

Ok I know the picture quality isn't awesome here, but I thought this home was just too fab not to share with you guys!! Kristy over at I Design Love first spotted the stunner over at the Fine Homes section on 1st Dibs. The extraordinary villa is located near Monaco in the South of France, and is currently for sale for a scant $27 million. The turquoise shutters are absolute perfection, especially next to those pretty fuchsia flowers! Check out more of the interior right over here!

Ready for an island escape? Welcome to Villa Amarilla, an incredible vacation home on the Caribbean island of Anguilla. I can't even fathom what it would be like to call this home! Hello, seriously, that view?! Not to mention 9,000 sq feet of luxury and comfort! The vista boasts five bedrooms, including "The Turquoise Suite" pictured above.
